About the event
From the Speaker, Dr Barbara Mckay:
Having worked in public and charitable sectors for over 40 years, I have come to believe that understanding key turning points in our lives linked to values, social justice, duty, and service all contribute to the passion and compassion that we experience when working with clients.
In this short presentation I will focus on several key turning points in my life that have influenced my practice creating passion and enthusiasm for what I do. I will talk about the concept of ‘relational integration’ as one frame to explore the dance between our personal and professional identities that creates a context for curiosity and interest in the lives of others and enables us to be therapeutically useful.
I hope to reinvigorate interest in the power of stories whether these by ours or those offered by others.
