Systemic Family Therapy - An Asian Perspective

Updated: Apr 15, 2022

Hi there! A big appreciation to all members and friends of AMFTS who turned up for Prof Chao Wentao's guest lecture - Becoming an Asian Family Therapist: Reflections and Explorations on Cultures. It was such a pleasure to have Prof Chao share rivetingly with us his practice and research insights, with topics ranging from exploring cultural nuances to practising with cultural sensitivity.

The Q&A session that followed was just as enlivening as we saw many participants posing thoughtful questions on the main distinctions between Eastern and Western cultures, as well as how to draw inspirations from traditional Asian resources such as mindfulness and family values/ethics.

We believe everyone who joined in the session benefited by gaining much food-for-thought and please do stay tuned for the next upcoming guest lecture this April!

Warm regards,

AMFTS Admin
